So, I just wanted to share with you my current projects, I found this blog called Tami's Amis and Other Creations, and there are WIP Wednsdays and FO Fridays, this is awesome, so Im editing the post to be my WIP Wednsday :) I know I wont do these every Wednsday and Friday, but still ;D



 I also plan to post a bit more throughout the next couple days, because I think I'd like to share and show-off some of the past crafts I done, I have some poems, some origami, knitting, drawings, etc. But yeah, I just want to share with everyone things I've done and I'd very much appreciate it if everyone or someone gave me feedback :) but, we'll see when the post comes, eh?

So, for now, I just want to share with you a couple projects I've started recently. I have the crochet Totoro, which is actually on hold at the moment untill I can buy more yarn for it, since I ran out. I got the yarn from my mom, but she got it online from knit-picks, so yeah.

Here it is so far:  

Im sure you can tell, but I made the bottom-half of the background int he picture white/gray myself. I just opened it in paint and edited it, because I held up a white folder for a background, but I wanted to keep my hand in there, so I just kinda edited over the bottom background, heheh, next time I oughtta use photoshop >.<

But yeah, I have a little bit more done than whats shown in the picture, because the blue yarn was all used up :3

THis is Bernat's Handicrafter Peace and Love yarn, along with the start to my blanket ive been makeing, on size 10 Circular needles (it's to be knitting on straights but its easier on circs :)  )

so you can see here the little pattern going on here, it'll be checkered knitted and purled squares. Its called the Basket Weave Afghan, I found it online as a web version of a Jo-Ann's pamphlet. :) its going pretty well, I've got a bit more done since this picture was taken :)

Well thats all I have to share today :) ill try to share more and more, so yeah. Ill try to get the poetry drawings origami and everything up :)

Just a Get-By Post

Hey hey, it's Kayy!

I just wanted to make a quick post, seeing as I havn't posted lately, due to laziness which led to nothing to post about! D:
But don't worry, I plan to get pretty crafty now, summer's getting boring! Haha, so Ill make something, plus I have a couple thoughts to share with you all.

So first, before I get into all that, I just wanted to let you all know that we brought our beloved puppy Maki home tuesday night, and he's just a little sweety haha! I follows me around alot, and we walked a whole bunch wednsday, poor guy, got all tired out and just couldnt walk! But yeah, hes been a bit of a pain in the butt as well, I've had to stay up almost all night every night for potty breaks, but, today we got him a little kennel/cage thing so that he can stay in during the night.

Moving on...

So, I've Hobby Hopped yet again, and I am now into fiber crafts, a.k.a. Knitting and crocheting.

Hobby Hopping - Having so many hobbies you only tackle one or two at a time; The act of changing to another hobby for a any period of time for any or no reason.

So, I've gone from sewing/quilting, to knitting/crocheting. Dont worry, I will come back to sewing, I just don't know when. I might go to scrapbooking, or painting, or writing or drawing, but for now I know Im into crochet/knitting. 

I told someone, and myself, and I've been meaning to for awhile, but I will be designing a crochet dinosaur or several crochet dinosaur patterns, I want to have a whack at it ;D   I've never designed a crochet pattern before, but I'm going to try. I usually prefer knitting over crochet, but, I dont know enough knitting to design a toy, but I do know enough crochet to do so (or at least I think so)

So yeah. :) But at the moment, I'm using a free pattern to make a stuff Totoro from the Miyazaki movie,My Neighbor Totoro, and from the Ghibli Studios logo.

So yeah, thats what I just started today (well, i started the project today, but Im actually starting it as soon as I finish this blogpost :D)

Also, I said I had some, well, A thought to share with you.

My mom and I were discussing (a loooong time ago) about opening an Etsy shop for mostly crochet/knitting, but other things as well. And selling patterns on ravelry once we get good enough  to design some.

So,,yeah. thats all I wanted to share with you, Im just kinda thinking of opening an Etsy shop with my mom (just because I dont want to open two shops,and because Im a minor so I can't really open one myself anyways ;) )

So, sorry I didnt post about much, but yeah, have a wonderful night all, I'll post on how my Totoro and Dinosaur patterns turn out, bye.

Sewinggg....

Hey Hey Hey Its Kayy

I just wanted to show everyone the progress on my quilt~   So far, I've gotten three flower things done and sewn them together :) I cant wait for this to be done. I know my stitches show through on the seems, but I'm OK with that since its my first quilt ;D its just a personal thing for myself anyways C:

I also bought some cute fabric today to make myself a dress as well, I went to Jo-Annes and got this tan colored fabric with cute little skulls and hearts on it in black, as well as some shirred black fabric as well. Ill will definitely post that when Its finished!

Here's a way better picture I took outside not too long ago :) now you can see it. Isn't it cute? I can't wait to add more! Requires lots of patience though :)

Anyways, that's all I had to share for the moment, I know I was going to post some drawings... perhaps tonight, or Tuesday, I wont be home tomorrow since I'm spending the night at my friend's house, cant wait!

A New Hobby? I Think So!!

Okay, so yesterday, right after I posted my post about boredom, I continued to browse random blogs. I found this wonderful blog about quilting (of course I subscribed!) I've tried quilting before, when I was about 12 years old, ha ha. I did not turn out well!  Well I ended up keeping the messed up topper for the next three years, and a few months ago, I ended up making a dress with it, which turned out pretty well, Ill have to edit a picture in here sometime.

Anyways, I already sew, but what I came across was hand quilting with hexagon pieces, it was adorable and just, like wow! Anyways, I found this last night, and attempted to make my own hexagon template, which for some reason just did not work out. At. All.

So today, I got online and found a perfect hexagon picture online, and traced it from my computer (it was just a picture of a hexagon, so I wasn't taking anyone's copyrighted image!) Anyways, i put what i traced onto a piece of thin but sturdy cardboard, and I've been using it to trace lots of little paper templates onto some scrap papers, and so far, Ive made two hexagons :D ha ha, i only just started, but its going decently, I'll put a group of pictures at the bottom of the post :)

I think I'm just going to start out by making a simple flower to hang on my wall :) simple enough :D ha ha, I also have a question at the end of the post, if anyone knows the answer that'd be awesome! (if not, google works too ;D)

P.S. I said I had a question, when you go to take out the paper, do you cut the strings you sewed the template in with, and the stitches you used to connect all the hexagons will keep them together in the right shape?  If anyone can answer, thatd be lovely!

My Babies! :D

Okay, so a little away from the crafting world, I want to introduce you all to my two bestest friends and soon to be third bestest friend :)

If you re wondering, I'm talking about my pets, ha ha! They're so adorable, I wanted to show them to you :)

First up is one who's been with me all my life, Ive known this poor ol' guy since I was a year old, making him 14 years old, that's alot in cat years!!

And here he is!

Isn't he just the prettiest darn cat ever? Fancy Feast! ha ha, Hes giving me that feed me look, I promised him tuna tonight. He rushes to the kitchen whenever the can opener runs xD

And for size comparison, here's a sucky picture of me holding him:

Sorry, i know its really hard to see! There wasn't alot of light in the room, sorry! But yes, this is my oldest friend, and boy does he have quite an attitude! Hes was happy and purring as I was scratching his ear though :)  The way I'm holding him almost makes him look like someone standing up! ha ha, cool

And, my newer kitten, Banditt (a.k.a. Derpy) is quite the baby,no joke. Very skittish though, we got him from a friends ex-neighbor, he was a barn cat. :) Poor guy, one eye is clouded due to a previously untreated ulcer, but we had that fixed, the cloudiness will remain though, and then he had to be treated for the herpes he was born with :(  (I know! I never knew cats could get herpes! but hes all treated for it and such, poor kitty, good thing we got him neutered)

And last of all, this is currently one of 8 puppies my cousins dog gave birth too :) this ones my favorite:

Does he not look like a sweety? Ive named him Maki, and he shall be mine hopefully :D

The puppies are kept at my grandmas house since that's where my cousin lives, but he needs to get rid of all the puppies soon because hes getting his own apartment :)  There are some that are taken, but I know a few still need homes :( If anyone in Michigan, or anyone willing to come to northern Michigan would like to adopt a puppy, that would be wonderful!   Hes selling the puppies for 100$ each, which is outrageous! I think my grandma and my dad are trying to convince him to bring it down to 50 or to give them away, (i get mine for free if i get one though, cousins advantage!)   But yeah, if any ones interested, email me at pretty_pie2@Hotmail.com     The puppies are mostly Pit bull with Shepherd mixed in :) the love attention and just love to crowd you when you step in the pen :D   I don't know exactly which ones are taken, but i know total that there are 6 boys and 2 girls  

Well, that's all i have to say for this post, I'm coming out with another post right after this one about what I believe may become a new hobby ;D

Complete, Total, Utter Boredome

Hey Hey Again, Its Kayy! Ha ha, still lovin' it.

So, if you cant tell by the title, I'm pretty bored. Today, the last day of exams, and last day of school, I am in my 2nd exam hour (my 5th hour) which, if you've read my previous post, is my credit recovery class in which I have nothing to do.  Last hour, I had my Geometry exam, and it actually went by decently, I think I did well.  But now, I've been in this class for an hour, with another hour to go. I cant wait either, which is making it worse. I'm going to the movies after school to see Super 8 with Mike (that would be my boyfriend).

Ive seen a couple reviews about the movie, it sounds pretty cool, it was also the only one airing at the time we get out of school, so lets hope its a good movie.

I'm starving, ha ha. I didn't eat breakfast this morning, and since the exam days are half-days, there's no lunch being served.  My own fault for not eating breakfast xD ha ha. ill get something at the cinema, or the gas station. The cinema is WAY expensive. I am not paying 4 dollars for skittles. I'm sorry.

So... last hour, I drew a pretty cool whale with city buildings on its back. Id love to take a picture and upload it now, but of course cell-phones aren't allowed in school (which is reasonable, I'm not complaining) So ill just have to upload it later. I also have to do that post I told you guys about earlier, the one about the Creative Every Day challenge, ha ha, cant wait! I cant wait, just another week before I can get my puppy, I will also upload a picture of him when I get home. His name is Maki :D

What else to ramble about? Pass the time, pass the time, time slow, do you have a dime, id like to help the hobo.  There's no point to that rhyme, I'm just sort of kind of bored. Poor hobo :( I feel bad for homeless people. I'm thankful I'm not homeless, very much so.

Hmmm... click clack click clack,,, she should stop stomping her sandals. Hey hey, that was almost a, uhmm.. whats the word? where everything in a sentence starts with the same letter,, like peter piper had pack of pickled peppers,  ha ha. Wasn't it called an alliteration? Let me google that...

hey, i was kinda right :D cool.

I'm sorry if this post bores you, it bores me too. I'm sitting with nothing to do, ill go cry boo hoo. ha ha, I'm not too good at poetry, but I do write some, i should type them out, make a page for them or something... I don't know.

It got cold for some reason yesterday. All week, it was almost so hot it was unbearable, and then yesterday and today, it cooled down to the 60's

Where'd that come from??

Hey hey hey, its Kayy :) I love saying that ha ha.

Anyways, I meant to post a couple days ago, but, I wasn't sure what to post about :) So, I'll just ramble on and see what comes up.

I want to share some drawings with you guys! So far, I've only gotten 9 views, but I'm hoping for more :)

So basically, on Tuesday I was sitting in class with a friend of mine, and she had me draw a character from a story she's writing, and it turned out pretty well!

Sorry the picture quality is really bad, I promise to get a new one soon!

But yeah, that seemed to of gotten my mind going, and in my 5th hour (right after that class with my Friend) I was just sitting there with nothing to do. Its not that I just wasn't doing work, my 5th hour is my credit recovery class, because I messed up my freshman year, and ended up failing 4 classes, but, its OK. I went to summer school for one class, and I recovered the other three this year, so for the past month or so, Ive had nothing to do in that class.

As I was saying, I was sitting with nothing to do, and decided to pull out my sketch book. I whipped out a couple drawings, and I think they look pretty OK, here they are:

So, there they are, and I was kind of hoping for some feedback? I'm getting better, always trying anyways :)

So ( i need to find a way to stop starting every sentence with so!)  Yesterday, Today, And Tomorrow, are all exam days, tomorrow being the last two exams and the last day of school.   Yesterday I had my two hardest exams, Physics and English II, which actually seemed pretty easy, I think I did well. Today, were my two easiest exams, Art and Gym. Art, we got to listen to three songs, and then illustrate them. I illustrated a song by the Beastie Boys with a picture of a dancing robot :) Ill need to take a photo of it and edit it in here, ha ha.   And tomorrow, I would have my 4th and 5th hour exams, so, ill only be taking my Geometry exam since my 5th hour has no exam, but I still have to sit in class, or be counted as absent, fun fun.

So, yesterday during my English exam, I made a couple of drawing/sketches/doodles, Ill be making final drawings of them, and then sharing them with you in another post :)

Now, I want to show you a random mixed media painting I did :) It's not toooo mixed, but, its more than one media, so its all good, ha ha. I'm trying to explore into mixed media, and this is one of my first 'expiriments'

The Idea came out of a book called Drawing Lab, I don't remember the exact assignment, but it led to this.  This is just on some sketchbook paper, using charcoal, acrylic paint, gesso, marker, crayon, and something to scratch the gesso with ;D

Okay, so, over at Creative Every Day, I signed up for the challenge, and I'm so happy to be able to :)  and the theme that's free to use, is Metamorphosis. So far, my idea for a project, is to show the progress of my art/drawings, in a sort of timeline theme, that will be tomorrow or Saturday's post for sure. For today, I will be working on a drawing (to be included in the timeline as well) and that will have its own post when it's done.

Anyways, I've rambled about sketches, exams, ideas, and such, and I don't know what else to ramble your ears off about,, so I think I'll  sign off now, until I post again,

My Mind: Symmetrically Unorganized?

So, this post is just a mindless ramble about doodling and such, I am not sure it will make complete sense (its already written on paper, I wrote it while bored at my grandmothers house, I will not alter it from the writing besides grammar/spelling mistakes)

Would it be OK to call my mind Symmetrically Unorganized?

I'm unsure if this is a real term or not, but there is alot of thinking behind it.

So, last night (this would actually be about 3-4 days prior to this post) I'm at my friend's graduation party. But anyways, I'm sitting there quietly, and a couple of Michelle's friends are talking about doodling during class; and if I remember correctly, this is generally what was said,,

The more geometric, such as squares and stuff, your doodles are, the more you're actually listening in class, and the more squiggly and swirly your doodles are, the less you're listening

This isn't about whether or not I listen when I doodle, but about the way a mind is organized.

When I draw or doodle, I don't really doodle designs, I more like draw on my homework.

And when I do draw designs, I favor being symmetrical (which would be related to geometrical, right?) but I do love swirls and flourishes as pretty as they are.

This may not be a matter of mindful organization, but if it is, then I believe I lean towards the more, not listening (or unorganized) part of mind, involved with focusing on making this doodle more like a drawing and perfecting it. So, would that actually mean I'm organized, just in a different way? or would it mean I'm unorganized, and not focused?

I can be organized more tangibly, like how straight a label is on an envelope, (which by the way, i find stamping envelopes and filing papers to be pretty fun, and the noises are like music to me). And the times where I might have 'OCD' moments, like Tetris with a grocery shopping car, but with some other things I don't care how organized they are.

So, this post may be a big long rambling about nothing, but I think I like that, Symmetrically Unorganized, it just sounds cool to say/think.

Now I cant wait to draw and make art, should I take pictures of my processes? Or do before and afters? Should this blog be strictly about drawing/painting, or all my crafts and tidbits of my life?

I don't know, but I'm excited to find out, I hope at least one person finds this interesting,and that maybe, someone or some people will find this blog interesting as I get it going.

And So, A New Blog Is Born

Hey Hey, its Kayy :)

How is everyone?  I hope you're all well, I'm not entirely sure how to start my first post, but I guess I can tell you about the blog, a little About Me is in the sidebar to the right :)

EDIT: I just saw there is NOT an about me at the sidebar, but I'm working on it :)

So, this here is my blog, inspired by an absolutely wonderful magazine that goes by the name, Artful Blogging. I saw it for sale on a magazine rack at a local shop, Benjamin Franklin Crafts. I was picking up some wet media paper, since I want to experiment with painting and mixed media and such, which is going pretty OK, but that's another post, ha ha.

I've started SO many blogs before, but always felt it would never work out because I don't always have something to blog about, or I just get lazy, but that will change.

So, by the time I reach page 36 of this magazine, I've read about the peoples blogs, and what stood out to me most was the Creative Everyday Challenge by Leah Kolidas.

Let me rant off on a different but related subject for a second here. I don't like starting in the middle of a sequence, which I think is pretty common. I don't want to read a book in a series if I haven't read what's before it first, even if the previous stories aren't needed to get the book, which is pretty expected of most people. I don't like joining a game when its already started, or a new game in round 3, I don't like watching a series of a show, leaving it for a while, and picking it back up, no, I'd rather restart ( this goes for things like anime, T.V. series are different.) So, now that really long rant is over, I'll get back into how it relates to this, this, what is this? an article? a post? I'm not too great with terms.

Anyways, so what I'm saying is I'd feel awkward joining in this challenge now that's half-way through the year, because I'm usually that strict about it, whatever it is.

BUT!

ON this very special page, number 36 of Artful Blogging, the issue of May/June/July 2009,  in the section where Leah answers Q's, has made me want to start a blog, about discovering art and art journaling and her Creative Everyday Challenge. I know it's now 2011, but I hope I may still be able to join the Creative Everyday Challenge, I'm actually going to go visit this site at the moment... be right back (by the way, I don't text talk to much, but I do like to use smileys [: )

and...  its still there! This makes me so very happy, I know what I'm doing after I publish this :D

And about how I was having a hard time keeping blogs before, I think ill be able to now. I'll be finishing school this week and will have lots more time to do it this summer, and more time to create and such. I may make a puppy corner of the blog for the raising of my puppy that i will be getting in about 2 weeks. (not that the page or whatnot will be specifically called Puppy Corner, although it might, I'm not even sure I can make pages in this blog, I've yet to figure out everything about Blogger) 

EDIT: I just checked out categories and pages and whatnot, I will not be having a page for the whole puppy thing, if anyone knows how to sort posts into like categories, thatd be nice :)

So, that's about all I have to say about this blog at the moment, I'm sure there will be another post or something about it, but maybe not. It all depends on if I remember something I wanted to add (which I might just edit, but I might make a new post too, ya never know) I think i might have an upcoming post about ideas on what to add to the blog, suggestions would actually be loved so very much, I believe I have an email me thing at the top or right of the blog, but if not, my email is soandsosblog@hotmail.com 

EDIT: No, there is no email me thing, but there is a bar under my header that lets you submit your email on notifications of posts I guess, I donut know how it all works yet.

I also have posts coming up about drawings and such and yadda yadda, you'll just have to read them :)
